How do I check whether a Remote Software Upgrade is available for my MINI with Operating System 9?

Depending on the model and equipment, your MINI with Operating System 9 will regularly, or if required, receive new functions, functional upgrades and quality improvements free of charge with MINI Remote Software Upgrades. To check whether a new Remote Software Upgrade is available for your vehicle, perform the following in the MINI Interaction Unit or in the MINI App.

 

In the MINI Interaction Unit: 

  • Apps MENU
  • "All"
  • "System settings"
  • "Remote Software Upgrade"
  • "Check for upgrades" and follow the instructions in the MINI Interaction Unit.

 

In the MINI App:

  • "Check status" ("Vehicle" tab)
  • "Remote Software Upgrade" ("Software" section).

Please note: The search for a Remote Software Upgrade in the vehicle can only be carried out when standby is turned on.
