What are the benefits of the LED lights above the control panels on the multifunction steering wheel of my MINI with Operating System 9?

With the equipment-dependent multifunction steering wheel in your MINI, you can operate selected driver assistance and infotainment functions without taking your hands off the wheel. 

In accordance with legal requirements, models with MINI Operating System 9 feature elongated LED lights above the multifunction steering wheel controls to indicate the status of the driver assistance systems: 

 

  • Green: The assistance system is active and providing lateral guidance.
  • Yellow: The assistance system is about to be interrupted.
  • Red: The assistance system is deactivated.
