Why does my MINI with Operating System 9 not have the Controller in the center console?

MINI Operating System 9 is designed for touch and voice control. Unlike earlier MINI operating systems, which used hierarchical menus, Operating System 9 is app-based, similar to a smartphone. 

 

The upper area of the central display shows driving-relevant information such as: 

  • Speed 
  • Fuel level 
  • Range

The main display serves as the central starting point for opening apps. Swipe horizontally to move between the live widgets in the center of the display, which provide direct touch access to entertainment, contacts, vehicle settings, the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, and other menu items. 

 

Tap the Home icon in the menu bar at the bottom of the circular display to return to the main display. The menu bar also includes icons to the left and right of the Home button for quick access to frequently used menus such as Climate, All Apps, Navigation, Media, and Telephone.
