What is the difference between charging my MINI electric vehicle with alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC)?

Charging your MINI electric vehicle with alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) differs in the type of current (alternating current/AC, direct current/DC) and the current level (kW). The current level determines the length of time of the charging process.  The higher the current level, the faster your MINI electric vehicle charges. The battery of a MINI Cooper SE is charged from 0% to 80% in less than 40 minutes, for example, when charging ultra-fast with direct current with a charging capacity of up to 50 kW.
