How does the drive-off assistant work in my MINI?

On inclines, in selector lever position D, L, S, or R, this system prevents the vehicle from rolling opposite the set driving direction and provides drive-off support. 

 

Driving off: Engage a gear position and step on the accelerator pedal to drive off. The parking brake is released automatically. Depending on the vehicle load or driving situation, the vehicle may roll back slightly.
