Is authentication required before the MINI Digital Key works?

You can optionally choose to require authentication before the Digital Key works.

 

If the Express mode or Comfort access is switched off or the Screen lock is turned on, the Key holder will need to use authentication methods including Face ID, Touch ID, PIN, Password or an alternative method as established by mobile carrier. 

 

If the Passive mode is on, the smartphone can stay in the user's pocket and the car will automatically unlock when approaching and lock when leaving. If the user turns off “Passive Entry”, authentication on his or her smartphone is required
