How do I reboot/reset the MINI interaction unit?

1. Preparing for the Reset

  • Ensure your MINI is parked safely and the vehicle is in "standby" or the engine is running.
  • Make sure you are not parked in an area with poor mobile reception (like an underground parking garage).

2. Performing the Reboot

  • Locate the small volume control/mute button on the center analog panel.
  • Press and hold the button down.
  • 70-Second Reset: Continue holding until the screen goes black, the screen will come back on and then turn black again.  Once it restarts the second time, release the button.
  • The MINI Interaction Unit will turn off and turn back on.
  • The system will take roughly 1 to 2 minutes to fully repopulate apps and data.
  • A system restart retains your personal data and presets.
