The Cross Traffic Warning with brake intervention helps the driver by providing visual and acoustic warnings when driving through confusing exits or pulling out of perpendicular parking spaces. The system detects road users approaching from the side earlier than would be possible from the driver’s seat. If there is a risk of collision when reversing, this system provides assistance by performing an automatic brake intervention. The sensors monitor the area behind the vehicle. The system displays a warning light on the exterior mirror, for example, when other road users are approaching. The cross traffic warning can be activated or deactivated on the Interaction Unit.
The system must be activated on the Interaction Unit for the Cross Traffic Warning and brake intervention to switch on automatically.
